Best Buy via eBay is selling the Samsung - 850 EVO 250GB Internal Serial ATA Solid State Drive for Laptops for $89.99. Using the eBay code POSTECLIPSE15, it takes $15 off making the final price $74.99. Shipping is free.

Newegg's deal is $80 but with $2.99 shipping. Depending on your sales tax rate of your state (if applicable), this could be cheaper by up to $8

Best buy charges tax in every state. This is in addition to the $74.99

Should put +tax in title :-)

In case anyone is wondering, the code is a one-time use only so you can't apply it to more than one order. :-(

Regardless, thanks OP, in for one!

The $15 code is applied AFTER calculating the $90 + tax. Total for me is $81.29.

Stupid question and I kind of already know the answer, but BB gift cards can't be used on eBay, right?

No, but you should be able to buy an eBay gift card in store with your BB gift card. I haven't tried it in a few months, but unless they've changed their policy you've always been able to buy gift cards with a gift card.

Thanks @Medic311.

This ended up being ~$3 less than the one I bought from eBay--Newegg in February and saved me a trip to Microcenter (@$79.99):
  • $87.99 + Tax - $10 (off $50) = ~$84
  • $89.99 + Tax - $15 (off $75) = ~$81
Questions for those already using SSDs in a Desktop PC / Workstation:

Do you bother to move your pagefile, TEMP directories (i.e. Windows, Chrome, etc...), My Documents (i.e. all the included sub-directories) to a spinner to reduce wear on the SSD? Or does moving the pagefile and TEMP directories reduce the benefit of having the SSD in the first place?

I'm not a gamer. My 3 desktop PCs will be used for:
  1. Handbrake / ffmpeg video compression
  2. General Home Personal & Business (i.e. Surfing the web, reading forums, paying bills)
  3. RAID Data Server:
(I just found out about Fastcache so I'm researching that topic. Any users here?)
    1. Compressed Plex videos that I intend to keep (vs Watch-n-Delete)
    2. Workstation Data
What's the maximum percent of space used figure to stop adding apps in order to maximize wear leveling? 75%?

Thanks!
