Decent deal (occurs periodically) and overall good quality product. I am considering buying this again but have to wonder if it makes more sense to buy a charger with USB-C connector for better future use. Anyone have any researched insight?

The connector makes no difference, it's the charger. As long as it's QC 3.0, that's the best you're going to get until QC 4.0.

Check this Aukey product to see the USB-C connector I was referring to. I'm unsure of the future of standard USB-A (Type-A) connectors on USB cables and the benefit/detriment of using that compared to a double ended USB-C connector.

I understood what you were talking about, but USB-A will be here for (imo) at LEAST another 3-5 years. They are still standard on PC's, only a few ultrabooks are just now going USB-C. Like I said, I give it several years before it's mainstream. By then, QC 3.0 will be obsolete, too.
