I've been researching this one lately. Some important notes,

1. This is not made by Westinghouse. Westinghouse is just a sticker that companies buy nowadays. It's actually sold by Midwest Equipment who bought Westpro last year.

2. The specs on amazon's site don't match the manual. The manual states <5% THD and 7.7 hrs on 1.0 gal of gas @25% load. The infographic on Amazon shows <3% THD and 12 hrs runtime @25%

3. As best I can tell, this is a Duromax generator. Look at the pictures (including the 'D' on the air filter) and compare them to the Duromax XP2000is. This youtube video shows the inside of the Duromax generator. Notice anything in common?

This has 37.5% more wattage than the Duromax XP2000is (2200W vs 1600W). The XP2000is can be had for $350 fairly often. Using the price per watt comparison, the equivalent is $350 * 1.375 = $481, so price wise, this seems ok. Just know what you are getting though.

Does Duromax make a 2200 watt model. Can't seem to find one.

Ok guys, I got this generator and it arrived a couple of days ago. I have put it through its paces and I can tell you it starts all kinds of things my older (non-inverter but equally rated) generator would not. It showed up with a broken spark plug (probably due to shipping) but a quick trip to autozone and $2.49 later it is running like a champ.

There seems to be a lot of hate for the chinese generators, rebranded or not. This is a solid deal on a higher quality (probably chinese rebranded) generator. There is a Westinghouse servicing dealer within 20 miles of my house. I encourage you to use their website to find the closest service center, there are an impressive amount. If you want a Honda or a Yamaha, go pay twice as much and get one. If you want a slick deal on a decent quality generator, consider this one.

I too did my homework and made an educated decision. The features of this generator dwarf the double price japanese gen sets. Will it last forever? probably not. If it lasts 500 hours I figure I will have got my money worth. By that time, with as much as I will use it (not much), it will be time for an upgrade anyways... like a 240V inverter genset Smilie

Looks pretty nice but I think the deal is dead already.

Nice running watts @ 2200
Parallel capable (but the kit looks pretty cheap)
No 12v port
No RV outlet
Decent warranty service.

I kind of like this one and if I had missed the champion price matching blowout this would be a pretty good alternative @ $452. I find the champion 2800w almost too big and heavy but power wise it is perfect and the remote start is great.
