remember the 150 cash card is not instant. it will take 4 months to come. the tylt kit is instant, but a totally useless item for someone not buying their first smartphone.

bad deal. boo costco.

Terms are confusing to me. Haven't bought a phone from a carrier in years and never from Costco. It says early payment results in forfeiture of billing credit offers. What are the billing credit offers?

In short, do I have to sign a service contract to do this with Verizon? I understand that I need to do an installment plan for the phone, but can't that be paid off early and the $150 cash card be kept? What's the penalty, if any, for paying off the phone early?

TIA

I think that that line in the terms/conditions is just generic. " Early payment of installment plans or cancellation of service will result in forfeiture of billing credit offers." - This is not a billing credit offer (an example of which is Best Buy's offer, below), therefore nothing to forfeit. You have to purchase the device on a device payment plan, but I see no reason you can't cancel or pay off the device once you have the gift card in hand.

Best Buy's offer is $150 off in bill credits over 24 months, if I am not mistakin. Costco's deal is actually better for those who don't want to be locked into the phone for 2 years, and you get the free charging bundle which is better than no bundle. I was gonna go Best Buy for Pre-oder but this is better, IMO.

Per Best Buy's terms:
SAVINGS DETAILS:
*Savings are deducted off the full total price of the device and are reflected in reduced monthly payments over the life of the device. Savings offer does not apply to unlocked phones.

Does anyone know if you can still get the trade in credits from Verizon even if you purchase the phone through Costco?

For example, if I have the S7, which VZW is offering 50% off trade-in credit for, can I trade in through Costco and receive the $175 card and a TYLT kit from Costco AND STILL get the 50% off from VZW and the Samsung promotion gifts? I would think so as the Best Buy deal is stackable in this exact same way, but I'm unsure.

Yes, you can purchase through any official 3rd party Verizon retailer and stack the deals.

Yes you still could get the trade in value by purchasing a new phone at Costco. Return your old phone to Verizon store and you should be getting a credit in a month or so

VZW deal is UPTO 50%, I went all the way to checkout on their website and my Note 5, 32 GB dropped to $200. I can get better price selling Note 5 privately. VZW has worst deal. Costco is better as I buy a lot from Costco and can use cash back, though it does take up to 4 months to get cash back.

Agreed, Costco is a better deal. I buy a lot from Costco, My Note 5, 32 GB was from Costco with $250 Thanksgiving rebate. It does take 4 months to process rebate. VZW is offering $200 for this phone (not 50% as advertised). In any case you can still get that deal from VZW after buying from Costco. Better to sell privately. There will be better deals around Thanksgiving, but there may not be Samsung promotion currently offered.Worth $100.
