If you buy this I strongly urge you to install every single System Update available immediately.

All System Updates are delivered via Windows Update, but there's over ten [microsoft.com], and they fix some pretty major issues. Just keep running Windows Update/installing/restarting, until nothing else is found.

With all of the updates, this machine is light, stable, high build quality, with a nice keyboard & touchpad, and good utility. Without the updates, it is a mess of Blue Screen hell.

Only issue I have with this machine fully updated is that the battery continues to drain while asleep at a higher speed than I'd like (3% per day unused).

That's what I was wondering. The prices on the high end ones are pretty good.

Yeah the upper end models are tempting. I just feel like it's a risk unless you can get a good warranty for cheap. Plus almost all I have looked at in store are bent. Both out of the box and the displays.

High end prices are excellent relative to the eye watering original prices - I was looking at guides to see if you could upgrade the storage and it seems impossible. 1 TB should be plenty though even if you are throwing on some games and there isn't really a comparison at the $1500 price point.

Fun fact about these - you can take the screen off and then use the unit's charger to plug into the screen part and keep it charged up if you need a huge tablet and don't want to be hampered by the screen's low battery life.

Cool product and these prices in my mind make for a compelling buy even against the inevitable new ones.

I'm assuming these still don't have the gpu in the base? Also any coupons a possibility?

Hmm the one at BB that matches his price seems to have the 965m. Not sure this is the same. It does say dedicated gpu?

No GPU base it doesn't look like but you can get one and put the top on it I think - I would like if they make a new GPU base you can put an old one of these on but that's probably wishful thinking

All of these models indicate Dedicated Graphics under Product Details.

So are these models the ones with the dedicated graphics card in the base?

"delivery only, out of stock"

Are these supposed to be the same price in store?

well the 512 seems to be available, but I'm sure everyone would rather have the 1tb at the same price

Yes, you can see it on the product specs:
"NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 965M 2GB GDDR5 memory"

For the i7 cpu.
