I'm sure you're right but I don't follow the math.

I really hate how Restaurant.com's pricing works.

I get a $10 gift card for $4 but I have to spend $20 so basically I'm just getting 20% off my bill (plus 20% for tip and x% for tax).

So I work the math out like this...

$39 - $24 (the MAX of 12 x 2) = $15 (as mentioned)

Now I'm technically spending $15 to get $100 BUT in most cases I have to spend like $200 minimum, right? So now I'm putting out another $100.

So really you're spending $139 to get 2 movie tickets and $200 worth of food (max if the movie tickets are exactly $12 and you're able to spend exactly $200 in food), correct?

So this is about 30% at best not including tax and tip assuming you can find somewhere that participates with Restaurant.com that you can reasonably spend $200 at for two people. 20% on the $200 food bill is $40 and tax in NJ is 7% so its now over $200.

But if you just read the headline, $39 for $24 worth of movie tickets and $100 worth of food sounds amazing.
