Very nice of them. I donated to the relief yesterday. These people need help. Glad to see things like this.

This has been a common occurrence - Airbnb has come thru many times in time of distress

I generally have a distrust towards unicorns, they are always in the news with privacy issues and being evil. Not such the case with Airbnb.

Kudos.

Publicity stunt... I haven't used Airbnb, but they normally charge service fees for people needing a place to stay?

It should be a service fee for those renting out their places because they make money, but my bet is on Airbnb charging that also...

Just a corporation looking for free advertising and losing a few piddly dollars in the middle of a Horrific Travesty.
You're right, they should have surcharges during this time period to gain max profit /s

They actually have lots of listings available for people to stay for free. Like, 100% free.

I think the "no service fee" is only if a host wants to list for $$, but it seems like there's lots of people who are happy to let someone stay for free, and not asking for any $$ at all.
