If you have a Samsung smart TV, steam Link is now available for download. Just need to pair controller to tv

I have it connected to my PC with ethernet and there is no lag, but if you use wireless there will be.

EDIT: Apparently this varies depending on the quality of your internet connection, so YMMV. I have friends that are able to play on wireless but no fast-paced games like FPS and whatnot.

Purchased these both when the last sale came about. The steam controller is trash imo but the steam link is pretty great for 15 bucks. Expect to hook it up with ethernet instead of playing wirelessly unless your wifi is REALLY good. Buy a different controller though, the steam one is awkward and has these annoying touchpad things that mostly just make the controller bigger (which makes it difficult to press buttons if you have smaller hands like me).

All depends on your connection , but if you got a laptop and wanna stream games from your desktop , that's possible.

Got the Steam Link when it first came out for around $50. Used it once, never messed with it again. The TV that I wanted to stream to was too far away to run an ethernet cable so used wireless. Input lag wasn't toooooo bad, but enough to make most games unplayable.

Tempted but only to play in the living room. Wireless Router is about 6 feet from the computer and about 20 feet from the living room TV.

Might be close enough.. I'll just wait and see what other people say.

Games with quick responses you'll notice it a BIT, like Rocket League. That being said, any Turn Based Strategy games or games where Timing isn't a big deal, it's a great device.

But get an Ethernet cord, it makes a huge difference.

Have one in my bedroom, it's works pretty well, even over a wireless connection to my PC downstairs, a bit of input lag, but fine for games that don't require a lot of twitch speed inputs. I beat Mafia 3, and played a bunch of No Man's Sky and Stardew Valley.

It's no Nvidia Shield tho. Have one in the living room and the Gamestream tech is almost indistinguishable from playing native on my PC in most cases.

Steam Link performance is the definition of YMMV. If you can get the right setup though, this thing is a godsend. I have mine wirelessly connected to my PC which is just a few inches away through a wall, and I have no connection issues whatsoever. Besides gaming, the feature I use the most is exiting Big Picture mode while streaming so I can access my desktop and browse the Internet on my TV with a mouse and keyboard. I got mine for $20 a few months ago which I thought was more than a great price, so $15 for this is a steal.

I use it 90% of the time to stream my pc/desktop to my tv. handy for when guests come over and someone wants to be a youtube dj. I also use it to stream my go pro videos onto the tv as well.

as the others said, for games you will need to use an ethernet cable for a lag free gaming experience.

I couldnt get the hang of the steam controller. I just gave up, and plugged in my xbox one controller and called it a day

Just curious where did you find this. I just called to see if there's any local for pick up and they knew nothing about it.

Hmm I have a 2016 Samsung TV (KS8000). Does the Steam Link app make the Steam Link hardware unnecessary?
