Never heard of this brand before, is it like the Rolls Royce of car seats?

According to my wife, it sounds like it. She said when this goes on sale "BUY IT".

These seats are one of the best seats for getting 3 across a row as it is one of the narrowest. Something like 17".

Wow great price. I grabbed one in November 2016. These car seats are pretty big but you can typically fit 3 in 1 row. The installation isn't too bad and they look really comfortable. Best part is that you can use this until your kid is about 12 yrs or reaches the weight limit (but you have to make necessary adjustments). Just for those wondering, this isn't one of those car seats you just take out of your car. Like I said these things are big a kind of heavy.

These car seats are pretty incredible and that's one hell of a deal. I have two of their higher end seats in every car and I have one of these R100s boxed up for use on airlines. You're basically wrapping your kids in a steel tank when you put them in a Diono car seat. The only negative thing I have to say or them is the installation is an epic PITA. Getting these things sufficiently strapped down in your car is going to look like a no holds barred cage match. These are not some 10 minute installation so if you constantly swap your car seats in and out you'd be better off buying something else.

Wow Airlines! I have one, built like a tank and weighs as much - 25lb+! would be better off with a $35 cosco 6 lb carseat that you don't mind getting lost in luggage

Oh no doubt, the only reason I even considered it is because it folds up neatly and can be worn like a backpack which makes navigating through an airport with kids a bit less stressful. It's surprisingly easy to install into an airline seat considering how labor intensive it can be to install into a regular vehicle.

Why are you checking your car seat in as luggage? Your child should be in their own seat on the plane, and buckled into their own car seat!

The Radian folds up, and a carrying bag is available to make it easier to carry them to your flight. Make sure you let the attendants know that you will be needing to install your car seat so you can get early boarding on the flight.

Owned a Radian and loved it! This is a narrow car seat, and is usually essential if you are trying to get three car seats installed on a single bench seat.

The top slots are VERY high, which allows your child to continue using them for a lot longer before they are outgrown. This will save you money over the long term as you won't have to replace the seat like you will with a shorter shelled seat. The higher top slots will allow you to keep your child harnessed and safer for a lot longer, as well as not forcing you into booster mode too early like so many of the "all-in-one" seats do.

Great seat and a great buy!

Once you learn how to properly install your Radian, they install just as fast as any other car seat. Practice installing and uninstalling any car seat you own/buy until you can quickly install it. You never know when you'll suddenly need to change vehicles and uninstall/install your car seat into it.

Also of note...

90% of kids will outgrow a car seat by height before they ever outgrow it by weight. So the more expensive versions of car seats which go to really high weights are not usually worth it for that feature alone, unless you have a really big, or husky child.

I'm a bit confused on whether or not this is suitable for infants. It says "all-in-one," but at least one Amazon reviewer mentioned that it doesn't come with infant padding. It also doesn't look like most infant seats, which have absurd amounts of stuff around the baby's head to keep it stable.
