Slickdeals memory issue and crashing Chrome

1,244 348 August 31, 2017 at 12:47 PM
Slickdeals seems to have a memory leak with Chrome. I notice chrome is not responding and check Task Manager. It show memory is growing and using excessive CPU, yet I'm doing nothing on the page. I have to kill the chrome session.

This only happens with Slickdeals. You guys are trying to do way to much with damn ads all over the place.

This has been going on for months, even though I upgrade my browser, from 54...all the way to the current version 60.

Thanks for reporting this issue, Drew.

The ads should load within a few seconds and never refresh on the same page view. We haven't detected any bad ads come through in the past several days. Let us know if you could provide any more info if this happens again.

Thanks.

I have the same issue with the website on chrome. If I leave the tab open it's 1G+ (working let alone commit). Slickdeals used to be a tab that never got closed. Now it's a burden on a 16G machine...

There is a Verizon FIOS ad on one of my SD tabs no less than 6 times. That tab was sitting at well over a GB of memory after running overnight.
