I'm in the market for a TV like this.

This has better sound and design aesthetics than the P series, but lacks local dimming and is "edge lit".

By all accounts still a great TV, but I am trying to avoid edge-lit so I'll probably drop a few extra bucks and get the P series.

I went to Costco in SoCal and found the TCL 55C803 for $50 less. I purchased this TV from Costco last week for $600 and went to customer service to get the price adjustment.

I also tend to think the "P" series is worth an extra $50.

Two friends and I purchased the 43" TCL 43S303 units together from Costco's website. Amazing clarity and color saturation with an OTA signal, and the streaming is excellent, too.

Plus, the "S" series has no direct ethernet connection, so all streaming is over wifi and I have a cheap router upstairs and this TCL's connection has been rock solid.

Very impressed with TCL and highly recommend this brand, coming from a former LG diehard.

Yea, you'd be better off getting the P-Series for the $50 more.

So I'm on the fence about getting this set. Going to look at when I get of work today. Have you tested extensively? What's your opinion?

* I'm aware of the $599 p set at BB. I know it's the publics darling of budget sets. I'm aware of the difference in how the two sets are lit, etc. If you go avs forum there's a extensive thread dedicated to it. Some have issues with the zone lighting , blinking, flashing during transitions.

Anybody know the difference between the 55C803 and 55C807? I ordered the 55S405 a few days ago but thinking of canceling and picking this one up b/c of the DolbyVision HDR

EDIT: only thing I can tell is the remotes are different (RC280 vs RC64) and the 55S803 model doesn't list a few specs like brightness....

Costco has a 90 day return policy. They could also do a price adjustment.
