Hey guys have been looking for the new 10.5 LTE models to go on sale at best buy since I had a lot of rewards to burn. Finally on sale 100 off which it has been this price before but never for the LTE models. All colors and sizes are part of the sale.

I know its nothing crazy but only discount I can recall for the LTE models unless you were next to frys for that $80 off.

I'm guessing it is only one model that would work across all carriers? Are they all unlocked if I buy them at full price? Want to use on TMO but Best Buy only carries ATT, SPR and VZW.

Try and price match to B&H to save tax.

Good deal on the WiFi only versions. There are no deals on the LTE iPad 12.9". Verizon ties you down with that 2 year contract.

Is the cellular version even worth it if you always have your phone with you+hotspot? That seems like a case for a large majority yet a lot of people still want the cellular version. Am I missing something here?

I had the 12.9" LTE version but ATT would not allow me to pay more than the $46 per month. I wanted to pay $100 monthly on the iPad so that I could pay it off sooner. I returned it but before I did, i removed the SIM from my phone and placed it into the iPad and it worked. My brother also has a LTE iPad 9.7" pro (unlocked, they're all unlocked) and he did the same thing and it worked even though his iPad had never been "activated" by any carrier. I want the LTE because ATT does not allow me to use my phone as a hot spot. So if i need to do something on the iPad instead of the phone, i can just throw the SIM from the phone into the iPad. Yes, it sounds stupid but it saves me from paying an extra $40 just for data and ATT throttles the speed anyways.

Thanks for the info. I'd assume that the cellular version is for people like you, the company or for w/e reasons doesn't let you use your phone's hotspot.

But say if you could, would there be a reason to get the cellular version at all?

If i could use my phone as a hot spot, i would've bought the WiFi only version. I just ordered the unlocked Note8 and i believe I can use it as a hot spot so i will probably jump on the WiFi only version. My brother has the unlocked S8+ and he uses it as a hotspot and we both have ATT. He said you lose WiFi Calling and HD voice I believe.

I think the LTE would have better navigation tracking since it has a GPS chip. Wifi does not

Will TMobile do something to the SIM if I insert a phone SIM into one of these? What's the experience lately?
