If I tie two cat5 cables together, can it become a cat10?

Wow. SUPER terrible advice from someone not knowing what they're talking about. You linked Cat5e. Not cat7. Stay in your lane...

You'll want cat5e. Cat6 isn't bad though for 10Gbps in future.

Damn I wish I knew if it was cat5 or cat5e. It's crazy downloading a file at 70 Megs a second though

If the Verizon technician laid the cable for you, it was most likely 5e. Mine was installed a couple of weeks ago and that's what he used. It should also be written all over the side of the cable.

He laid the cable from the ONT to the router, but the cable from the router to my desktop is old as hell!

You call this deal bad and brag about getting 300 ft of shielded twisted pair cat7 for $30 and don't link it? Nope. I call your bluff. You're lying or you bought some garbage claiming to be cat7 when it's actually cat5e reprinted with "cat7" on the jacket. Troll.

This is a decent deal being shielded twisted pair in a flat jacket with clips. You can find a lot of deals out there for 100ft STP for $29.99 and the like (amazon, monoprice, etc). But the flat cable does make running it outside of walls a lot easier (especially if you're trying to hide it). Just keep in mind if you run cat7 from your modem to your router and then cat5e from router to device, you're defeating the purpose. Make sure you run cat7 from the modem all the way to your device to get the benefits. Smilie

Do none of you who upvote ever heat of monoprice.

Every day price is HALF of this sale price, and there is a 15% off for labor day.

Example, 25ft flat cable: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=9553

this isn't a good deal.
