So I just bought the Phillips Hue Starter Pack 3rd gen. Would it be better to use a SmartThings hub because it can control the same bulbs and much more?

I'm also considering Z-Wave because of their Qubino flush switches that fit behind existing wall switches or outlets and turn anything into smart devices.

And then there's the Logitech Harmony which I want to use to control my TV and Roku.

I bought the Smart things and have never looked back. Highly customizable and the support is terrific. The Hue is not yet fully supported but there are some who claim they can work the Hue without the Philips hub.

I don't really care what smart bulbs I use. With that in mind, would you recommend the SmartThings hub and any compatible smart bulbs?

The Cree are cheap and work perfect. Also the GE work well. I just buy those when they go on sale. Dimmer works great with SmartThings connected to Echo.

I've been reading for weeks and I don't know still. I want to use smart dimmers for wall switches but I want them wired in the wall. I know that these type work with the Smartthings. Currently I have a Philips hue. I'd like to only use one hub for simplicity. Can I switch the hue bulbs to work with the smartthings hub?

I don't care about going back to the hue bridge. I just don't want multiple switches on the wall that people can power the bulbs off and I'm not into the aesthetics of the switch covers.

Anyone have an answer or willing to have a conversation. With me on this?

The only difference is in the bulb brands. SmartThings is now offering Sengled bulbs compared to Sylvania Lightify in the old deal.
