TireRack double winter tire rebates set of 4 (up to $80 + $70) (YMMV)

TireRacks winter tire sale has started.
http://www.tirerack.com

$60-$80 rebate from tire rack for set of 4 winter tires (Aug,. 14 - Sep. 25), details here:
https://www.tirerack.com/specialo...omoID=T738

then many of those manufacturers have their own winter tire rebates on at the moment, details here:
https://www.tirerack.com/specialo...?tab=Tires

For example I just bought
4pc of 235/65R-17 MICHELIN LATITUDE X-ICE XI2 XL
$513 + $0 tax + $47.92 shipping = $561.36
and should get $80 tire rack rebate and $70 Michelin rebate for new total of: $411 ($103 per tire)

Local install should run ~$60-$100 bucks

YMMV / Note: This year while searching tires and at the checkout the tire rack site lists eligible for one rebate *OR* another. I just call customer service and the person I spoke to knew no reason why I wouldn't be able to get both rebates. In previous years I have got both rebates across a wide range of brands (including Michelin).

If I buy at TireRack's warehouse, will they mount/balance/reset tpms for free?

Purchased 4 BFGoodrich Slalom KSI winter tires, size 205/60/R16 for $420 total. Qualified for **$50 BFGoodrich rebate and TireRack $60 rebate equalling $310 for 4 winter tires or $77.50 ea. Incredible price. Road hazard warranty is included with purchases through tirerack as well.
Edit: **typo $50 instead of $58 rebate

This is definitely YMMV with the "OR" splashed all over the place.
Shipping will wipe out most of the Tire Rack rebate itself if that's all you get.

I envy you car guys with 16" tires, but only during the Winter Wink.

On the lookout for 18" Winter tires for a car.
Wish Goodyear/Dunlop was running a rebate so I could get double on that and try the YMMV on the Tire Rack rebate.

For shipping comparisons:
OP - $59.84 to ship exact same tires to my location (either border state or one state away)
Other Guy - $50.84 to ship same exact tires to my location ( " " )

EDIT - Best time to buy Winter tires if you have the adequate place to store them is in the Spring.

I know they will mount/balance a wheel and tire combo you purchase from them, but as far as acting like a tire shop I doubt it. I have the Ateq Quickset to swap winter/summer TPMS id's out.

We purchased a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi3 snow tires and a few days after picking them up received an envelope with two reprints of the invoice and brochures for the $70 and $80 rebate. Was going to post it but thought it wouldn't have that broad of appeal.

I love ATEQ, I have the VT55, well worth the price. Have thought about putting a listing on Craigslist to reset TPMS for half the price that dealerships charge.

The selection of "double rebates" is slim for me and least expensive was starting at $700.

Purchased two sets of Winter tires during Spring a few years back and shipped was $390.04 for 235/60R-18 Pirelli Scorpion Ice - Snow & $422.88 for 255/55R-18 Pirelli Scorpion Winter -- both without rebates.

Support's closed, anyone know why the "tax" is 4x as much if you pick up vs ship to home/installer in the same area?

Online shipping no tax.
Pick up triggers local state taxes

I have $6 in "fees" (I guess tire disposal) for online or pickup. Online, "tax" is $8. Pickup is $30 tax. This is in the same tax area

I received my tires 2 days after purchase. I don't have room for them they're currently stacked in my room haha
