FYI - I have added this camera to the list

ID spec distance and associated area max covered calculations ( 100ppf+ ):

This is the theoretical max based on raw pixels from the horizontal resolution and the FOV.
Actual real world results will be decreased due to the quality of the camera ( glass vs plastic lens, compression quality, sw/firmware,... ), installation view, as well as environmental conditions ( low light, haze, fog, glare off snow, water rain,.. ).

Practical meaning: Place your cameras in such a manner that any suspect / subject you wish to potentially ID is within this ID spec distance, as well as in a placement which will give you a high likelihood of obtaining a good facial image ( mount camera 8 feet or less high ).

compare to:
Ring Video Doorbell 720p at 160 degrees: 4.08 feet { 23.23 sq feet covered }
Arlo Pro / Arlo Go 720p at 130 degress: 5.644 feet { 36.12 sq feet covered }

May not sound like much, but E-bates is also giving 1% cash back via Newegg

LaView doesn't mention anything about Matrix IR on their website in this camera model

Good to see you here Arjun.

For those looking at security camera systems, this is a good solid POE system which for $300 + HDD will beat the pants off the various wireless and wire free systems many of us are purchasing.

Hikvision is the OEM and it is a REAL PoE system so you know this will be far better than the Annke / Sannce, Zmodo, or other "sPoE" systems.

So if you are on a tighter budget do take a close look at this system. For less than a 3 camera Arlo Pro kit you're getting quite a nice wired PoE system here.

Silly question but I don't see these listed as waterproof or outdoor? Are they?

Hi ThndrSki,

Good question

note in specs:
Weather proof rating: IP67 { x7 = Immersion, up to 1 m depth for 30 min, 6x = Dust tight )

Thus very good rating for outdoors ( IP67 is even better than IP66 which is good )

Refs:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code

and from the spec sheet:
General:
Operating conditions: -22 degree F ~ 140 degree F (-30 degree C ~ 60 degree C ) humidity 95% or less (non-condensing)
Power supply: 12V DC +/- 25% , PoE (802.3af)
Power consumption: Max 5W
Weather proof rating: IP67
IR range: Approx.100 ft. (30 meters)

btw - I have written some install notes in the following thread if you are looking for additional installation guidance

Silly Question #2, new to this having just moved into a new home. But are these wireless ones to install? Or will I need to run wires and such through these and then hook up to a main system to use?

It's wired, 1 ethernet run from the NVR to each camera.

Anyone know what cameras these are? Dahua? Hikvision?

..?
Hi tennisplayer888,

As Probedude pointed out these are wired.

As a result you will get a proper and reliable security camera system in exchange for your work to wire this up.

All the wire free and wireless products suffer from reliability issues - so if you need a reliable system wired is the way to go.

Are these better than wireless ones (not just in price)? Because it seems like a lot of making holes to run wires.

Oh ok, thanks. In terms for this system, is this normal pricing? Or does it go on sale often for a system of this size? I wanna get one, but where I am at now, I do not have the time to set it up.

The sale on this ends today, it is a special.

If you don't have time to bench test the system to see if you like it I would hold off on your purchase, as the return policy to newegg is typical of an online merchant. ( with a typical limited return policy )

If you can afford a pricier system take a look at the 4K lorex system on sale at some B&M Costcos - as Costco has a great return policy and will give you more time to test the system.

Also I would expect to see more deals for LaView systems from Newegg around the black friday time period - so you can keep an eye out for them. ( you would need to probably sign up for the newegg newsletter to get discount codes from newegg )

Wireless has zero place in a security system. If you care about security, run the wires. If you want a basic monitoring system and can accept it failing when you need it, go wireless.
