I"ve been eyeing this model, but I think the X850 will be worth the extra money. Just need the 75" version to drop in price to around $2000.

I am not sure where you live but if you live close to a Frys , a sales agent can get close to 2K for 75X850E model . Just got a quote in the same ball park range but I am debating between 850 and 900 . The price difference is around 600

We don't have Fry's in the Northeast. I would love the 900, but I don't want to pay more than $2500. Hoping I can get the 850 for $2000 around BF. I don't see the 900 dropping any lower than $2600.

It is very unlikely that these mid to high end 4K's dropping to below 2000 during BF.
BF is usually reserved for low end TV's like Vizio, LG or some Samsung that are specifically manufactured for Big box retailers ( lower quality of-course) .

These will eventually come down but there will be something more advanced technology to take their current spots of high end TV's.

I was offered 850 for 2.5 K OTD includes 3 yr extended warranty , taxes , delivery and wall mount . The 900 was offered at 3100 with all the above. Still debating

I am in Florida and getting ready for hurricane Irma. To my knowledge, there is no frys in Florida.
