Been waiting to pull the trigger on this exact model. Cheapest I found it for is 876.00 free shipping no tax. With Dell at 969.00 it comes to 880.00 if you add in CT tax and take off the 150. So really the 250 GC is the only advantage. Not sure how useful the 250 is at Dell unless you're going to buy something in the near future.

Does Dell charge shipping?

I agree the deal is "situational". But this is the best price I have seen if you do not mind the rebate and GC. Great gaming PC monitor though! No, shipping and returns are free from Dell.

While this tv is rated well for 65in, doesn't 55 use different IPS panel? Any sites review 55in?

Yes it does use the IPS panel. Since I'm planning to use it as a TV for my computer viewing angles are supposedly more important since you're sitting up close and we'll have to turn your head left and right to see images or Windows at the extreme sides. With a VA regular panel the images and color will be degraded if the viewing angles aren't good.

I'm hoping everything else about rtings review for the 65in are the same for the 55.

I was eyeing the Vizio 65 but decided on the TCL 55P607 instead for $600 no tax and free shipping from ebay. I know size matters and I was waiting on the TCL 65P807 to release in October but they decided to pull the plug on it.

The TCL is a TV with Roku and not just a monitor like the Vizio which has no tuner and limited built in apps. It does have chrome cast which is good. So did I want to pay the additional $350 for the Vizio 55 or $800-$900 more for a 65inch?

Guys, the Vizio is definitely superior to the TCL. Both have Dolby Vision and HDR10, auto dimming with Wide color Gamut. Vizio definitely has more features and to see the comparison visit this link.

For what I need the TCL provides so makes no sense for me to go with the Vizio. On Roku I have over 500,000 movies that I can watch which is a lot and new being added everyday. The interface is clean and very smooth on the TCL. I've read review of people complaining about the interface on the Vizio being slow and sometimes unresponsive.

I hope this helps someone when deciding which TV to go with.

this is technically not a TV but a display as it has no TV tuner.

If that makes a difference to you....

I bought the 2016 P55-C1, the same TV, but with a different remote. After calibration, the picture quality is excellent. Since I have cable and Shield TV a tuner has no value to me. The blacks are very dark and the color are vibrant. The true 120 refresh rate makes sports a dream to watch. Don't be afraid of the IPS panel.

A bit off topic but how do you calibrate these days, is it difficult to do or do you have to pay someone?

How's CEC volume control with the Shield and your TV? Are you able to control your tv volume with your Shield Remote? This is going to be my new set up.

So I would take this over the TCL because it has Chromecast built it. That means I can tell my Google home to play 'Whatever" on my TV and it will automatically open Chromecast on top of what I am already doing (using TV as a monitor and run everything through that) and I don't have to do any input switching. It should be automatic. At least that is what I am hoping but no one has confirmed. I won't have my new bank card for 7 days so I assume I am going to miss out on this deal and hope another one comes up on Black Friday.

Can someone advise if this is a good catch or to wait for BF? Seems good even with reselling the gift card for $50 less but I don't know.

The shield remote operates everything without any problems.

I borrowed a calibration Blu-ray disk, with glasses from a friend. You can go as far with calibration as you want. I stopped after about an hour of adjustments. It drastically cut down on any light bleed.

Don't care too much for this deal but I did rep you for your format!!!
The out the door price should be first (before any other) and then people can add in rebates, cash back, etc..)
