Not bad. They're definitely $50 and up normally

Best Roku ever released. No 4k, but the Roku 3 is the most dependable model.

Not since the forced ver 7.7 firmware update. I've been trying to get roku to roll me back to ver 7.6. The secret update menu no longer allows a rollback to 7.6. 7.7 bricked my roku 3 and 3600R sticks. My friends and family are also having the same issue.

I have two Roku 3's, three Roku TV's and a Roku Ultra. All are running just fine on 7.7. One 3 is on a beta build as well.

Hate to disagree with a positive review - but the Roku 3 can cause issues with WiFi. For whatever reason the WiFi Direct remote with the Roku 3 seems to super saturate the 5GHz band at times. When it happens it essentially disrupts your traffic to an extent some devices become unusable.

Doesn't affect everyone, doesn't affect all devices, but those that it does affect it's a nightmare to attempt to trouble shoot. Later models of Roku moved away from WiFi Direct.

Glad I haven't had that experience.

No. You need a 4K (UHD) compatible Roku model to have H.265 support. Other models pretty much only support H.264.

I'm not sure where to look online to tell if they're using Wi-Fi Direct or not, but the enhanced remotes for the 2016 models are still using Wi-Fi one way or another:

I had some fairly minor issues with my Roku 3 initially after Roku OS 7.7 auto-installed but the more recent patch release seems to have resolved them.

Plex is useless on 7.7. Netflix and some other apps had issues that may have been fixed, but Plex is the only thing I use and it is still terrible on the newest 7.7 update.
