Sears has craftsman evolv 3/8 drive hex bit sockets avalible in both metric and SAE sizes. 7 pieces in each set featuring most commonly used sizes.

Comes with craftsman warranty as stated below "guaranteed forever" and confirmed by customer service repsesenative that these fall under craftsman lifetime warranty and not craftsman evolv limited warranty that requires reciept for warranty.

Lower price than what harbor freight has avaliable as well as extra piece (7v6) as it seems like a baseline for comparison.

Metric version 7 piece sears: $3.95

Metric 6 PIECE @HF: $7.99 - 20% = $6.40 + freebie item

SAE version 7 piece sears: $3.95

SAE 6 PIECE @HF: $7.99 - 20% = $6.40 + freebie item

G-squared is correct. The customer service rep should've mentioned you MUST show proof of purchase for Evolv tools, which you DO NOT need for Craftsman.

If you don't keep your receipt, years down the road, you will be quoting "the rep on chat told me it was fully covered" especially now that Sears has sold Craftsman name to Stanley Black and Decker, good luck trying to access Sears systems after they finally go bankrupt soon.

yup. I compared it to the harbor freight version as a baseline for pricing since quality seems to be similar. for almost 50% less than HF you get 1 extra piece in the set and I chatted with customer service and they said this is under craftsman's full warranty which made me buy both sets. For the price of 2 sets you could barely get 1 set at harbor freight.

So THAT's where I got those. Smilie I've had a set of these in my toolbox for years. They're great for when you need to torque a bolt and a plain allen wrench won't do.

They do not have the full Craftsman warranty. ALL Evolv tools require you to have proof of purchase in hand or you'll be told to get bent. That's the whole point of the Evolv line. Most of it is complete garbage, just buy from HF and save yourself the grief when it's exchange time.

I haven't had much luck with the Craftsman hex bits. And I have both USA and China versions. The socket part is good quality, but the inserted hex bit is brittle and snaps easy under heavy use.

These are good for putting together furniture, swing sets, and such. But they don't hold up to Automotive use. If you use these for Automotive or heavy duty use, then wear eye-protection, so you get to keep your eyes when they shatter and the pieces go flying.

Yes, they are guaranteed forever, and Sears happily hands me a brand new replacement when I go in with a snapped hex bit. But in this case, its not really worth it, because they snap so easy. It's rare that I need to exchange a Craftsman tool, but these bits go back often.

These save so much time assembling furniture. You will be so happy you got these. Saved me probably 30+ minutes on a crib yesterday.

Thanks OP. been stocking up on these cheap tools sets for the last few months using these never ending $10 off $10 surprise point offers. As soon as I use one offer, I get another one.

I also received a notice from Sears the other day that my Sears card hasn't been used in over 40 months. The letter said my Sears Card account would be closed if I didn't use the card soon. Hope this $1 purchase on the card resets the clock another 40 months. Although sears probably won't be around that long, now that they are practically giving their tools away.

I've needed these for a while at home and at work. Got a Metric and SAE set for home and a SAE set for work, all for $12 and change. Thanks John.
