I am also considering this monitor mainly for productivity, with the ability to do some gaming, and the KVM functionality is attractive to me. However, one of the machines I will be using is a Macbook Pro.

Anyone know if this will work well with a 2016 Macbook Pro?

You'll be fine. Your Macbook should have only the regular issues with pushing these pixels to an external monitor. I have consistently endured sporadic waking problems with every external display I have ever used with every Macbook I have ever owned. The right dongle will be important: https://9to5mac.com/2016/11/17/ma...-adapters/

Is it really worth buying a monitor this big though, for gaming, when you're gonna be like 2/3 ft away from the screen

I purchased the LG and the Acer, ended up really liking the Acer ( warranty, looks, and less bleed). The Acer (as compared to this) gives you freesync support, which has been flawless for me. I'm not sure what deals are out for the Acer (quick look shows around +$100 diff)... But if you're in the market for a 38, I would give the Acer a serious look, especially if you're looking for freesync support.

The acer costs $999 + tax depending where you live at microcenter but give you 75hz guarantueed

There is also a new Korean 35" inch 120hz with a VA panel on fleabay from crossover but no review are available.

Wouldn't logic dictate that it'll work as long as it has the correct dongle?
