Is this more than Costco because of the extra tools?

Costco has these tools in the V7+ Animal ($335)
Included:Crevice, Combination, Flexi Crevice, & Soft Dusting Brush

So it looks like you're paying $65 more for your choice of 3 extra tools? Dunno what other difference the V7 animal has vs V7 absolute.

this has always been unnecessarily confusing that dyson does this, and I think it just refers to the included head and attachments.

Anyone know if the $65 is worth those 3 extra tools?

Well, looking at the Dyson website, they also sell a V7 Motorhead which looks like comes with no attachments other than the 3 extra of your choice for $325.

Costco is probably the best deal.

The Animal and Motorhead models only include the direct-drive cleaner head, which performs best on carpet. The Absolute comes with the soft roller cleaner head as well, which is specialized for hard floors. That itself is $150 if you buy it separately. Dyson.com also gives you the option of choosing a different wand color.

Absolute comes with the fluffy head for hardwood floors and the Motörhead. Fluffy head is over $100 from dyson. I went with the absolute over the Motörhead+ from Costco. Also, chat with dyson before you buy. Just ask for any extra savings or tools. Usually they give something extra.

From the pictures at least, it looks like the V7 Absolute doesn't have the HEPA filter, while the V7 Animal+ does (and lacks the soft-roller from the Absolute)

So are we charged tax on the full $550 retail price then? Because that's the sales tax it's charging me at checkout.

Actually, most V6s do not have a HEPA filter.

If you are okay with 20 mins or less of clean time. I have a V6, works great for me. Does a 1600 sq/ft level in that time.

there have been Dyson V8 deals recently for less than this. Several V8 refurbished deals that have warranties directly from Dyson for significantly less. Also the Absolute models for both the V6 and V8 have the HEPA filters, not sure why Dyson would confuse the model lines by excluding it from the V7 model.
