Buy a 1700 and overclock to 3.9 Ghz. You'll get essentially the same performance for $100 less.

This. They are the exact same processor dies, just clocked and with different voltages. Its possible that they choose the 1800x based on inspection as to be higher quality, but testing has shown once overclocked the 1700 performs the same or with negligible differences.

That's what I've read. Just price matched at Staples the 1700 with Microcenter(if you have one near you). $272 and change.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
It's the lowest price I had seen that was strictly online.
I realize Microcenter has it for $349 The closest Microcenter for me is...~ 10 hrs away...

I haven't found any nearby Staples B&M stores that have the the AMD 1700 In stock for a Price Match.

1800x is the same chip as the 1700, but it is clocked higher out of the box, and theoretically is a higher binned chip.
