no, it won't at all...

23'' 16:9 Width 20'' Height 11.3''
25'' 21:9 Width 23'' Height 9.8''

you're not gaining much in width and sacrificing quite a bit of height. it wouldn't be a great upgrade. i went from an old 19'' to this 25'' for my wife, it is almost the same height (19'' was 9.3''), but about 1.5x the width... so it fit nicely on her desk, but added enough work space. the monitor itself is just ok... viewing angle sucks, color isn't great, the stand has a downward tilt, single button navigation is annoying. for the price, it's good enough, but not something i'd want to use daily.

same being 15% wider and 11% shorter... sure Smilie

Is 25 inches large enough for an ultra wide? I am currently using a older 23 inch 1080p, but feel that a 25 inch ultra wide would be rough to look at.

I had the 25UM58-P and the display was beautiful, but it just seemed a little too small. It was about the same height as my currrent 20" display. I returned it.

I have this exact monitor, and I can say that it's about the same size as a 23inch 16:9 monitor.

Thanks, looks like I should hold off for something a bit larger.

I got a gaming monitor hooked to my Xbox so the difference between my Samsung curved 55 inch TV and a gaming monitor should give me some advantage over these young kids with their good reflexes in Star Wars battlefront

Hahaha, I meant same size being the height difference. I never actually measured it out, so I tried to eyeball the difference and it looked to be about an inch difference. Now we know, never ask me to guesstimate something, lol

Monitor is surprisingly short when you first see it however it allows two full size windows side by side and eliminates the urge to buy multiple monitors.
