How to receive your $4.99 credit without buying anything

1. Once you receive the button sync and connect your dash button
2. Once your button syncs to your wifi and registers it will come to a page asking you to select an item
3. DO NOT select anything here, simply press the x at the top right and exit the screen
4. Then press the dash button, you should see it trying to place an order and then flash red
5. That's it now your first button press credit should be in your account
6. to test it just add an item thats sold and shipped by amazon (not gcs) and you should see the dash promotion of $4.99 applied in cart

Bluking

This is taking advantage of a loophole...Woohoo! hug

The above does not work for the Sweets button. You can still get the credit by cancelling your order, however exiting before completion still ties the product to the button and instead of a red light it turns green.

If the button costs $2 and the $4.99 credit is only for your first purchase of the sweets box(from the wording) of $18 then it's not a moneymaker deal. It becomes a button that costs $2+tax and box of sweets for $13.01+tax which really just makes the sweets box $15.01+tax after you factor in the button. You do save $2.99 off of the first box of sweets and get a "free" button depending on taxes.

Can someone please prove me wrong.

Just cancel your order immediately after pressing the button (choose "order created by mistake") and then de-register the button from your account.

I have a box of 20-30 random dash buttons from doing this sort of promo and never had to purchase anything. Eventually I'll get around to hacking them [github.com] for use in my home automation.

You just need to press the button to get the credit. No purchase necessary. Credit works on anything sold by Amazon as seller. When setting up the button, you have to select from a list of products to attach to the button. If you press the button then, before selecting a product, it will apply the credit to your account without purchasing.

Can the $4.99 credit be used on anything or only used when buying sweets?

"Buy Dash Button for $4.99, and receive a credit for $4.99 after your first press."

Only good if you actually plan on getting an $18 box of sweets

"Free after first press. Buy your Prime Surprise Sweets Dash Button for $4.99 and on your first press, you will receive a $4.99 credit off your first box. "

So is it a $4.99 credit for any item sold and shipped by Amazon, or just $4.99 credit toward the first box of sweets?

you are partially correct, You just need to press the button to get the credit. No purchase necessary. Credit works on anything sold by Amazon as a seller. When setting up the button, you have to select from a list of products to attach to the button. If you press the button then, before selecting a product, it will apply the credit to your account without purchasing.

But if you keep the button to the sweets deal you can do the following and still get the credti:

Just cancel your order immediately after pressing the button (choose "order created by mistake") and then de-register the button from your account.

I had gotten this a while back. Ordered 1 box, the contents were mediocre. Not $18 good. Especially since you dont know what you are getting, its random. So if you dont like something, too bad. I also didnt think the things I got were worth $18. Some gummy bears (of course nice ones, but eh), some cookie crisps, some chocolates and something else I cant remember. I would have maybe paid $12 for the box of stuff. Seems like if you are going to get a random box of stuff, you should be getting more than $18 worth of stuff in it.

you do not even need to place an order, at the item selection screen, press the button and exit setup, credit applies still

if done "correctly", towards anything shipped/sold by amazon
