The fact you were able to go those 6 months though is great, we are two weeks in and already having to supplement with formula and it is unfortunate, and I know she is really down about it, but sometimes your body just doesnt want to cooperate. Luckily we live in the future and we have excellent substitutions that allow them to still grow and develop healthily.

I know you dont need to hear it from an internet stranger, but you arent a disappointment, having just witnessed a birth being able to go through all that and all it entails alone makes you amazing.

So glad you (or your wife) has had the supply to not need formula. In between the few times I got to feed him directly, having a full time job - I pumped up to 3 times a night while my baby slept, at work in the bathroom 3x per day, for 40 minutes at a time, until around month six where those 40 minute sessions only gave me 2 ounces.

I cried the day I had to buy my first tub of formula, feeling like a failure of a mother and a disappointment to myself.

Thanks for that snide reminder that I didn't do good enough.

Just a thought, but if you are willing to, try Target's "Up & Up" they have virtually identical products with respect to baby formulas offered by Similac and Enfamil. Our Dr. told us that all formula is heavily regulated and meets the same strict guidelines... "Up & Up" formula will probably save you at least $10 a tub. We were using Honest Formula and switched to Up & Up Formula with Rice Starch.

I agree, we switched to up and up sensitive from similac and haven't looked back. I just wish they made a version of enfamil reguline.

But Similac formulas have lots of coupons compared to up and ups. I have two $15 off Similac coupons which I plan to use it soon. It brings down the Similac formula to less than $10 per can after $15 coupon, target gift card, target 5% off credit card.

We use Kirkland product. I think it's slightly cheaper than Up&Up. $50 for three tubs at costco.com all day.

make sure when using redcard the end price is still above $100. the last time i did this, the redcard put the end price just under $100 and they would not give the $15 or $25 offer at that time.
