To each their own. You cannot knock electronic DJs that have mastered sampling and "chopping" up tracks. As a classically trained violinist, I give those DJs credit t, because it is legit music. All music is music, regardless of how it's done. There was once a day, classical musicians hated jazz music because it was unorthodox and not by the book. Now look at jazz.

I don't think so. I think with this pad, the best you could probably be is Skrillex.

I grew up around dance music and always was amazed at how this music was put together. You see buttons being pressed. I see more. I see a guy/girl that took a sample, recreates it, adds various loops, and basically creates a new track that's ready to be triggered through a midi pad. There's a huge difference. It's kinda like cannabis. If you don't like it, don't knock it because you don't like it. Let people who like it, like it, and enjoy it. That's all.

Probably you're thinking of this Slick Deal that's similar to the Novation but has no dials.

If I'm not mistaken, this should ship with Ableton Live Lite which is more than enough for a beginner to start making music

*Edit
As I'm looking at this Novation and the Behringer CMD 64 linked above (which is selling for $25 right now BTW) I see no REAL difference between the 2. Maybe somebody could chime in here who has more experience with these entry level controllers. I put my money on the Behringer though quite honestly.. No reason to spend 4 times as much for something that's going to do the exact same thing. And the Behringer also ships with Live Lite

Why? What's wrong with it? (ive never actually seen or got my hands on one) I'm sure it doesn't have the heft of a Push 2 or the feel of Machine but it's a $25 midi controller
