Decent price and hex logic pads are great.

Id suggest a cheapo Harbor Freight DA if not purchasing a Flex or Rupes (or learning, starting out, etc). Swap out the grease in the Harbor Freight one (very easy, no special tools), buy a 5" Astro Pneumatic backing plate (mark the yellow part of the plate with a sharpie line to help you tell if youre applying too much pressure and stopping rotation), and some Meguiars Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Compound to start.

Then when youve gotten the hang of it, step up to M101 (or M105 - dusts WAY too much however) and M205.

Anyone have feedback on how this compares to a Porter Cable 7424XP?

I have the HF DA, and it's a clusmy little fella. Will be putting it up for sale on reddit detailswap soon.

Pretty much the same. You won't really notice a difference.

dtpnu,

Which of the two available Harbor Freight DAs would you recommend?

https://www.harborfreight.com/6-i...69924.html

or

https://www.harborfreight.com/7-i...66615.html

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

Your second link is not a DA. Just a regular polisher with variable speed.
