I have no idea what xiaomi is, but will it work with smart things? Would love to throw this in my humidor to monitor away from home.

Because you can use it to measure/ trigger and then control other things for home automation as it's intended to be used not one to just look at.

It can be integrated with SmartThings and make sure you choose US Warehouse instead of China.

edit** it can be integrated with SmartThings but its not an officially supported device by SmartThings. So youll have to follow few simple steps to get it to work.
