I second this. Usually Fun Packs are $4.79, Level and Team Packs are $11.99 with GCU when they go on sale. They were last black friday, most of last december, and a few times since then including last week.

I'd wait until this Black Friday.

I agree. However, lately the good GCU deals have only been on the older waves and not on the latest ones. I'm not aware of any new waves coming out after the last one with Beetlejuice, Powerpuff and Teen Titans. AFAIK Lego Dimensions is effectively dead and it's far less likely there will be great sales on those before they are OOS. We can hope for the best, but I plan for the worst. Translation is I preordered mine on a mediocre discount through Walmart.com. If there is a better BF deal, I'll be all over it and return mine to Walmart, but I'm doubtful we will see any deals on the new waves. The only deals will likely be on the old waves of which there is still some inventory.

In the past, Skylanders always had clearances at local stores. It didn't happen with Imaginators. If you waited around for Target to have the B2G1F or Cartwheel deals like they used to have, you would have missed most Imaginators many of which can't be found at stores any more. The Imaginators just slowly dwindle away until they are gone. Will it be any different with the latest Lego Dimensions?

Actually the sale last week included all the ones that were currently out. I thought Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go, and Beetlejuice were out already but when I was running updates last night on the game it said those packs weren't available. I thought that was odd until I looked it up and sure enough, they aren't. They come out tomorrow actually.

Do you remember how much did the latest packs (the ones you mentioned above) sold for last week at Lego?

I'm just curious if anyone has beaten the Walmart preorder deal of $8.55/$17.98 on the latest packs yet. AFAIK, they are not only the latest packs but also the last packs with no others scheduled.

The fun packs were $4.79 and the level/team packs were $9.99 (with GCU).

No way! I have no idea how I missed a Best Buy thread with that latest Powerpuff, Beetlejuice, etc. Lego Dimensions on sale for $4.79 and $9.99 with GCU. I'll have to search SD history for that. I definitely would've jumped on those if I had seen them.

EDIT: I searched on Lego Dimensions GCU. The only thread I could find is this one in the September range:
https://slickdeals.net/f/10520340-gcu-members-lego-dimension-packs-story-packs-20-fun-packs-4-80-more-free-store-pickup?v=1

It specifically says Powerpuff, Beetlejuice (and mental block on the other one) were not part of that deal. So I can't find the thread you refer to saying they were $4.79 and $9.99 after they were just released a few days ago.

Oh, Wave 9 wasn't in the last sale cause they weren't out yet. Just everything up to Wave 8.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess somewhere in the discussion there was some confusion. I was talking about wave 9 from the beginning, and I was bummed when I thought I had missed a sale on those. So now I know I didn't miss anything.

That means the Walmart preorder deal was the best wave 9 price so far. If these stay in stock long enough, I'm sure wave 9 will have those prices at Best Buy with GCU. However, I've seen a couple posts saying this last run is likely limited quantity and I was worried they would be OOS/OOP before they ever reached the prices we're used to. That's why I bought them for a bit more than I would normally pay. I still have roughly 2.5 months to return in case I find better deals on wave 9, so I hope there will be some deals. If not, then at least I have them. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. I also overpaid with the last wave of Skylanders Imaginators because they seemed pretty rare. I guess that's the way it works out in the final wave of the now dead toys to life products.

Yeah I am hoping they are around longer than a short run cause my wife has been bugging me about getting the Powerpuff sets and I told her they will probably be cheaper on Black Friday like last year so if she can wait until then I would buy them regardless.

... that and we are still working on the rest of the sets I bought last December. I have every set that was released to the general public. I don't have any of the special sets like Green Lantern.

I don't have any of the special sets either, but I do have every publicly released Dimensions now. I haven't opened about half of them. I do hope we see good BF deals on the wave 9 sets, but like I said I was too worried to risk waiting a couple months in case they went OOS/OOP everywhere. The good part is if there are wave 9 BF deals I can buy those and return the ones I bought within the return window. That's why I made the "bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" comment. You have to assess whether you want to risk waiting or pay a higher price to have them just in case.

I may wait until 45 days before black friday and go ahead and purchase them then... at least since I am a member of Elite Plus I have a 45 day return/price match window, so that should take me to Black Friday.

Good idea. Walmart has 90 days so buying them now is still safe for BF. However, their preorder "deal" is over, as you know. If there are prices that beat the Walmart deal by a couple dollars or so each, then I will rebuy and return the Walmart ones.

One good indicator will be if stores have the wave 9 in stock. I've been to Target and Walmart after the release date and did not see any wave 9 at either store yet. If they show up at stores and stay there for a while, we have a chance at getting better sale prices. If they remain hard to find we probably won't even on BF.
