This is the BEST and WORST camera I've ever owned.

The best... well. no need to explain... everybody knows this is a great camera.

The worse... because the lens get foreign object inside way too easily. Panasonic wanted $150 to clean it, even during the warranty period. It has happened 3 times already. The second time it happened, I found a small hair inside the lens. Frown

Beware that this is a cripple cam. Yes, Panasonic has joined the ranks of Canon in this regard. To get it to be this size, they had to shrink the optics. So the image circle doesn't cover the entire sensor. That's why it's a 12.8MP camera even though it uses a 16MP sensor. At least they didn't scale it back up to 16MP like Canon does with it's cameras.

If you want M43 and small for factor. Look for a GM series Panasonic. The body is as small as this is and it still takes interchangeable lenses that cover the entire 16MP sensor.

That foreign object getting into the lens is a deal killer. Otherwise, it's a great camera. Hope Panasonic continues this line with an LX200. I wouldn't call it a cripple camera because it doesn't use the entire 16MP sensor. Physics has to be dealt with and you couldn't get this small of a camera to cover the entire sensor. They do advertise it as a 12.8 MP and didn't mislead with the spec.

Agreed. It's not crippled in any way. But the lens thing could be an issue.
