Dammit just paid 170 or so after coupon for this at Lowe's. Guess I'll be packing it up and returning it. Anyone know if that might be an issue?.. If only for the extended Costco warranty. 11*3 = 33 for the remainder off the year after the initial 30 day trial so that already makes up for the 20 bucks difference.

Good deal. Just wish Ring would bring HomeKit support as they've claim they would.

24v transformer keeps mine charged up even in the freezing sub zero temps of winter. They're like $14 at Lowe's I'd you don't already have one, which you will if you have a working doorbell, it just might not be as many volts.

I bought the Pro last month, but could not get it to work because our transformer is older and less powerful. I say "must be" since we still have not been able to locate it. Possibly hidden somewhere in the attic, which is why I am looking at getting the Ring 2 instead.

That sucks. Usually in the garage around here. Depending on the age of the house tho, might be in the attic or who knows, maybe in the wall

this includes ring chime AND free cloud recording for 1 yr!

Good deal.. I just bought my ring and chime separately.. *sigh*

Anyways, this is good for people that cannot hardwire their doorbell... if you can, there are a lot of choices and many choices don't need to pay for recording...

Is this a standalone door bell? My house has a door bell currently which is not working. Something wrong with the wire connected between the switch and the bell. Will this be perfect for me?

Thanks

Yes, if you don't have the pre-existing hardwire connection working, there are 2 options..

Ring V2 (don't get V1, the V1 doesn't have removable battery pack meaning you have to take out the entire doorbell to recharge, only 720p vs 1080p, and the motion detector isn't customizable.. you can customize it on V2). Also, you can't use the Ring Pro either because that must be hardwired.

Dbell also has smart doorbells which can be hooked up if you somehow can connect and plug into a power outlet. Usually, that isn't very common but everybody's situation is different so I thought I'd include it as well. Dbell has various models and I think they all have that option and is priced better and no monthly fees.

Did I say I HATE the monthly fees? Anyways, this is almost a standalone doorbell if you decide to go this route assuming 1 chime is enough (I guess that would depend on the size of your house). I would highly recommend buying an additional battery pack so you won't have any down time.

I have to ring pro. I can't imagine quality being even less, so I wouldn't choose the older ring version in all honesty. I got the ring pro for 179 on Amazon a while back and can't imagine life without it now. Had several issues at first but customer service was very helpful and persistent
