amazon has had the 11e brand new for $230 several times in recent past, so this is a good opportunity to then save another $40 etc but the problem is that you are only getting 4GB compared to the newer upgraded model with 8GB. that makes a huge difference with windows 10, though with the N3160 the processor will be the bottleneck for sure.

i will say though, having gone through 2 of these with Lenovo, the quality just isn't there. structurally it's top notch. they did a good job designing the chassis and hinges etc. everything else is crap though. touchpad mechanism is not robust and on both of them broke (sunk in on one side), i had to have the mobo replaced on both of them, and the lid sensor broke. the Fn key stopped working on one of them, the list goes on. i got rid of the bloat and it helped a lot, though the N3160 still chokes running windows 10. for comparison, i have the same processor in my chromebook and it's great.

I'm not buying either anyway, so don't waste too much of your time answering this. But why is is that they have two seemingly identical (CPU, RAM, SSD) refurbished ThinkPad 11e costing $167 and $804.

Here are the links if you're curious

$804 http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/outl...W-LR072ZN4

Tempting, but for the 4GB ram. I think there's only one slot, so you would have to spend 50-60 dollars to get an 8GB SODIMM.

I don't think that this is the Yoga model, which can be also used as a tablet.

fyi, I saw some news about the Lenovo chromebook catching fire around the vid cam on lid. School district is trying to replace a big pile of them.
