My grey vacuum that gave out on 9/10/2017 was the 3-in-1 38B1L model I purchased 8/3/2013.
None of the 3-in-1 38B1L model parts are interchangeable with this 3-in-1 2030 model.
Links to specs on the new Bissell 3-in-1 Stick Vacuum 2030 model [bissell.com]
and the old Bissell 3-in-1 Stick Vacuum 38B1L model [bissell.com]
Beside the obvious visual difference in looks, the 2030 is lighter at 3 lbs compared to the 38B1L at 3.5 lbs but the dirt cup capacity is less on the new 2030 at 0.069 L compared to the 0.075 L (I converted 750 ml from Bissell website to L) dirt cup capacity of the 38B1L which is kind of funny since the body of the 2030 looks fatter.
The dirt cup capacity works for me since I vacuum out the dirt cup with the hose attachment on a separate upright after each room with a carpet (bedrooms) and at the end of the rooms with no carpet (hallway, kitchen) for renewed suction.
Comparing the Bissell 3-in-1 Stick Vacuum 2030 model [bissell.com]
to the similar but Bissell Featherweight Lightweight Stick Vacuum 2033 model [bissell.com]
(The old version of the FeatherWeight is model 3106Q [bissell.com]
that was 1.2 amps.)
The Bissell 3-in-1 2030 [bissell.com]
(the blue version is the one on sale for $15.99) can be purchased from Walmart and Bissell FeatherWeight Lightweight 2033 [bissell.com]
can be purchased through the Bissell website.
The following specs are the same for both the 3-in-1 2030 and Featherweight 2033 stick vacuums: 2 amps / corded / 9.5" cleaning path / 3 lb / bagless / same crevice tool 1611504 can be used for both
The differences between these two Bissell stick vacuums:
3-in-1 2030: retail $18.86 / 0.069 L dirt cup capacity / does not include a crevice tool
Featherweight 2033: retail $27.99 / 0.067 L dirt cup capacity / includes a crevice tool
You can buy crevice tool 1611504 [bissell.com]
for your 3-in-1 2030 on the Bissell website for $1.99 (shipping for me was $3.95 for 5-10 business days or $8.99 for 3-5 business days).
I saw a pop up to join the Bissell mailing list for a 10% off coupon code and signed up.
I left my crevice tool in the shopping cart for 3 days after entering that code and Bissell emailed me a follow up 12% off coupon code.
Bissell checkout is showing me I can get free shipping if I my shopping cart has $40.
If you have access to the 3-in-1 2030, I would suggest buying that one even though you would have to purchase the crevice tool separately.
Since the blue 3-in-1 2030 is still showing up at $15.99 for me: $15.99 vacuum + $1.99 crevice tool + $3.95 shipping = $21.93 before whatever taxes Walmart and Bissell charge you.
Retail price 3-in-1 2030 would be: $18.86 vacuum + $1.99 crevice tool + $3.95 shipping = $24.80 before whatever taxes Walmart and Bissell charge you.
People have reported that the price for the 2030 might be cheaper in store at some locations.
I didn't want to drive so I ordered two blue 3-in-1 2030 model vacuums and a gift card to get the 'Free 2-Day Shipping on orders $35+' on the Walmart website.
If you don't have access to the 3-in-1 2030 model, and don't feel like researching a different brand, the Featherweight 2033 model comes with its own crevice tool and is $27.99 plus whatever taxes and shipping and handling Bissell charges you.
I like the 3-ini-1 2030 model, it is as effective as the 38B1L model it replaced and I like the improved transparent casing so I can see what I vacuumed clearly.
I used my 2030 to effectively vacuum linoleum, tile, low pile high traffic warehouse kind of carpeting, bare/smooth cement, and low pile rugs.
I am currently waiting for my crevice tool to arrive so I can vacuum spider webs from nooks and crannies.
