I haven't done any research for this. How would u guys rate buying this kit vs buying hub separately. How much am I saving? Thanks

Hub can be bought right now for $50, sensors and plug ~$35 each. So, at the current moment you're looking at ~$190 to get the kit with current sale prices. If you're looking at non sale price, individually pieced it'd be $260, or kit $250.

I think that is a smart idea, I have been building my system around the smartthings hub, they even have a huge open developer side with a lot of assistance on connecting things like nest.
