A special model with an ash body and traditional neck feel.
The G&L ASAT Classic is Leo's final word on the traditional single-cutaway bolt-on axe. This special version features an ash body in natural gloss, a 9.5" fretboard radius and a tortoise pickguard.

Framed in a classic boxed-steel bridge, the G&L-designed alnico pickups deliver crisp attack with complex harmonics while individual brass saddles offer modern levels of intonation refinement.

The Tribute Series ASAT Classic is dripping with Leo mojo at a price attainable for every working musician. Once you play a G&L Tribute Series, you'll never look back. Case sold separately.

What's nicer, this or the tele-schecter that goes on sale for the same price?

I think the other ones come from the Korean factory.

This is a better deal than previous basswood ASATs. Also the natural gloss looks great! In 4 1, thanks!

I have played a couple of the recent tributes and all of them are impressive for the money. I have one that sits out all the time that I am always picking up.

I agree I have a basswood Tribute Legacy and if I'd known the differences when I got it I definitely would have looked for an alder or ash body instead

Really? There still are people being "that guy?" I thought this thing died out like two years ago.

On a more serious note, I got a tribute ASAT about six or seven years ago. Love it. Better than a Mexican made Fender, but I feel the quality has gone down since they started being sold mainstream by stores like Musicians Friend. I feel like $299 is a pretty normal price for the newer, lesser quality.

Created an account just to say how much I love this guitar. At one point I had 3 Fender MIM Teles. I sold them all for this G&L tele and a G&L strat. The fenders played well but I always had a problem with the paint chipping easily. Overall the quality feels much better than Fender, and I personally prefer the tone. Its a bit more bright and twangy compared to MIM teles, so it might not be for everyone.

Looks dead now, but great deal. I'd have to play the one I was buying first. I played a couple a few months ago, and one I liked and one I didn't like at all. This goes with all guitars for me, though. ymmv
