Awesome break even with Starbucks store after about 600 drinks by my simple math:
cost of SB drink $5
cost of home made drink $1.50
breakeven point -> $2200/(5-1.50) = 628 ....

You could argue that your homemade is better than SB, but could you do that for every other mom&pop gourmet coffee store Wink

If you can afford to pay this much for an espresso machine I'd strongly encourage you to spend a little time on HomeBarista.com. If you're willing to learn how to pull a decent shot you should be able to get results far superior to this machine at home (and far superior to Starbucks.)

Full disclosure: I haven't used this machine, but have extensively used Saeco Super Automatics at home, and am glad I finally took the plunge and bought a La Spaziele Mini Vivaldi. No comparison.

For 2k, you can get a really nice prosumer espresso machine. This one is fine for your shop/office. This looks like a decent coffee as long as you use fresh beans that are not too acidic/bright.

umm, yours is Refurbished. Costco comes new and with a 2 year warranty, 4 year warranty if you use your Costco visa card. Can't compare the two.
