Crazy Tracfone deal for smartphones - Target.com $35

*** UPDATE: Looks like it's dead. ***

https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...A-52580783

Buy one of the above or buy two to get one 20% off. Use your REDcard for another 5% off if you have one.

Wait for a link to your Tracfone card PIN(s) to arrive via email then go to that link and retrieve them (Target says it usually arrives within 4 hours). Login to your account on tracfone.com and choose "ADD AIRTIME" under the phone you want to add the airtime to and enter the PIN(s) that you got.

Now here's the crazy part... Tracfone is adding 2250 minutes, 2250 texts, and 2250 MB of data per card even though you are buying a 750 minute, 1000 text, and 1 GB card. I did this with 3 difference smartphones. NOTE: Days added is 60 as you'd expect.

No guarantees it will work for you... but it worked for me... several times. You will probably need to wait a while before your balance is updated but give it time.

*** UPDATE: Looks like it's dead. ***

Even though it may be dead, promo code 53629 still works for an extra 1GB of data.

Some buyers may not receive the email for 4 hours, be patient.

When you enter the card's PIN code to apply to your phone, the service date will usually immediately update but you may not see the update to your minutes/texts/data for up to an hour.

I still think Tracfone is one of the best for low mobile phone users.

Straight Talk is better for higher data users, and Total Wireless is best for a family plan.
I've been using all 3, and just recently switched my ST users to Total Wireless.
Planning to add a 3rd device next month with my daughter's Tracfone expires.

3 phones for $85.00 - unlimited Talk, Texts, and 20 GB of data to share between the 3 lines.
The best part is Total Wireless is on the Verizon network.
Actually Tracfone and Straight Talk uses Verizon too, and can support AT&T..

Were the ones it worked on smartphones and/or BYOP? Also, did it add 60 days of service or more? Oh, one more question. Are your phones on triple minutes for life sim cards? Those are no longer being sold. 2250 is 3x750 but the texts and data are not tripled. Odd.

They were smartphones... 2 were iPhones the other was my LG G5. Days added were 60. I do not know if I have a "triple minute SIM" card or not... I don't think so though. I don't think smartphone cards are suppose to triple anyway. Who knows but I suspect it's another Tracfone bug or quirk that works out in your favor.

There were smartphones and sim cards in the past that did triple minutes. Here's a site that discusses them:

It used to be that BYOP smartphones all got triple minutes but that ended in April this year. If your phone was activated after that you don't get it, unless you can find one of the old sim cards. So, I would say this deal is YMMV depending on when you activated your phone with Tracfone.

You can check if you have TMFL in your account. Select a device and click "Buy Service Plan" and if you see "Pay As You Go Plans" at the top, you should have it. You can confirm further, by scrolling to one of those plans and it should say "3x airtime for you phone".

Thanks for posting the deal. I would try this but I already have enough service and don't want to spend ~$70.

For my phone it does say "3X AIRTIME FOR YOUR PHONE" on the "PAY AS YOU GO PLANS"... but there's nothing about this $35 card being doubled or tripled. Maybe it is a bug/quirk that only applies to those who see "3X AIRTIME FOR YOUR PHONE"... but who knows... I guess more people will have to try this to see what happens... all I can say is that it worked for all 3 smartphones I tried it with.

I'd love to know if other people can reproduce this with their Tracfone smartphones.

What's the best way to get this for a year?

If I get a year refill will this just add another 60 days or can I only use those allotments for 60 days?

If you got a year refill/card, then this would just add to your minutes, texts, data, and service days.... You'll have your entire # of service days to use your minutes, texts, and data balances.

The "day of service" and the "minutes" buckets are separate. Once you add minutes, they are there forever* and don't expire. I've had minutes carried over for years, since TracFone is basically a "Put stuff into buckets" plan.

So this will put 60 days more into your "days of service" bucket. If you also buy a 1yr plan, you'll add another 365 days, plus whatever minutes come with that plan.

A big point of confusion is the whole 3x thing. I know on my phone I've had TMFL and a "regular" tracfone card gives me 3x the minutes (for example a 400 min card gives me 1200 min). But, for this deal, the card specifically says "this plan does not triple." I haven't tried one of these cards yet, so not sure what it will do for me. OP reports that it's giving triple mins for his plan. If so, that's truly a great deal, especially with the extra 20% off on second card. Tempted to give it a shot, but if it doesn't come out to be 3x, then it's a so-so deal, though not too bad even at 1x.

Why not just get the $15 plan instead?
