In general, portable Western Digital drives like the Elements or My Passport series aren't shuckable.
WD 2.5" portables have the USB port soldered to the drive, so you can't just take it apart and put it in your laptop.
As someone else said, it's so rare to get Amazon to price match things it's not worth asking them.

The answer is Amazon has numerous software bots (i.e. programs) monitoring numerous products on various competitor sites, Best Buy.com and Walmart.com especially, that if it's something Amazon "wants" to price match, their bots will do it automatically... at least for a brief time until Amazon's sells out of whatever quantity they chose. Most of the time the original source of the deal has the deal in stock for much longer than Amazon.

Amazon does this solely to try to take away (harm) sales at other online stores' who have deals to dissuade them from bothering to have future deals. In Amazon's dream world, Amazon is a monopoly and there is no competition and no sales. Thankfully Amazon doesn't own the world... yet, but they are working on it along with Google and Microsoft.

I always say: buy from the source whenever possible. Don't punish retailers for having sales and don't reward copycats for trying to harm the source of the sales.
