This one is convenient but I would think one of the obd units that connects to a android/iPhone app via Bluetooth/wifi would be much more useful with the additional functionality etc...

Guys if anyone reads this ...
As someone that buys and sells used cars professionally for living...
These machines are ancient. I wouldnt buybitnif they were 1 dollar.
Buy a little obdii reader that hooks up to your phone via bluetooth. Its much cheaper and has more data functionality as well as colors than the hundred dollar plus ones they sell on pepboys or oreilleys.

I keep one of these in my old "work" car. It throws 02 codes all the time and at night the light bothers me on the dash so I just clear it and it's good for another week. Worth the price incase something happens to it.

Very useful thing to have when you need it. Can be pretty expensive.. I got mine for $18 from Walmart different brand and all but totally worth it at this price.

I agree, the $6 Bluetooth or wifi adapter is more useful. They can pull up much more info on the screen of your phone for all the sensors. And when you pull a code, you can tap on it and pull the info from the web of what you need to do to repair it. Heck, used mine twice in the last week, and my vehicle is only 2yrs old.

Bluetooth readers are indeed far superior. 10 times the functionality (literally).

If you are a consumer, Bluetooth unit is fine, but if you are looking for reliable unit, you need wired simple Unit just like this.

A Bluetooth 4.0 or Bluetooth LE unit will work with iOS. Check the compatible Apps first.
