Groupon Getaways have a deal for Days Inn San Diego, 10 minutes from San Diego Sea World, starting from $61 per night....plus save an additional 10% with promotional code below. The deal allows two adults and up to two kids 17 or younger with dates into December. This may seem like a typical rate for a Days Inn but this is San Diego and near Sea World and the Zoo....lodging near there is usually a lot more.

You pay $20 (I think it was) a night for "parking your car fee"

Otherwise, not a bad price.

I'm actually staying here for one night in November and booked at $63 several months ago without a promo right from the hotel website. Not worth switching (and prepaying) my reservation to save about 5 or 10 dollars imo. Not great accommodations but we are arriving late in San Diego and wasn't worth paying for nicer accommodations for just a few hours.

There is a maybe slightly better deal here but it takes a little bit more work. It's $55 a night starting on snazzytraveler.com [snazzytraveler.com]. This is normally a pay site but code IAMSNAZZY gives you a year free. I am not sure if you have to auto cancel or not, have not gotten that far in it. Somebody in timeshares told me about this.

I personally would take the slightly crappier Harborview in Little Italy for $63, then you are more in the center of t own. I spent two months on hotel circle for a work thing. Its not a bad place but if coming for a vacation it would be better to go downtown or go to one of the cheaper coastal motels in Oceanside/Carlsbad and be near the beach.

Aren't there taxes and extra fees added on or are they included in the price?

San Diego? Now? No thx. Still a bit far from the hepa A outbreak 😷 but not planning to go down there anytime soon
The outbreak is downtown San Diego where the homeless people hangout and sleep. Unless you plan to spend your time there you won't get hep A. You should probably get the booster vaccine anyways....

Do you generally hang out in a homeless encampment?

What is this about Hep A outbreak? I have never heard of it before.

Hepatitis A is an infection in the liver and it is spread from person to person due to unsanitary conditions i.e. when an infected person goes to the bathroom and does not wash their hands after a bowel movement perhaps where the Hep A resides in the feces.

If said infected [with Hep A] person comes into contact with food and then an uninfected person ingests the food then most likely they will get the infection, that is why you see signs in many bathrooms in restaurants telling employees to WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE RETURNING TO WORK for example.
