Quote from SaltyOne ~1030 or so I believe
Sounds about right.

Quote from tennisplayer888 How is this compared to an R9 270 2GB?
Inferior performance wise.

Quote from llance6 Would this be an improvement to the Walmart clearance Dell 3560 with the i5 from last week? It has the integrated HD 530 graphics
Yes. The problem is determining if the card would fit and be compatible with your system. I believe you're referring to a laptop. This is a desktop gpu and would not fit into a laptop. If your laptop has an MXM slot you'll need to find a gpu of that variety. This card is designed for a full-size desktop with moderate to high watt gpu. For a system with slim case you'd need a low-profile card for that type of tower and gpu. A GTX 1030 would be comparable to this performance wise, and would work in such a rig. A GTX 1050 would be better for gaming, but will cost somewhat more.

Quote from yourr8 I have a Dell T3500 workstation with Quadro 2000 1GB, I believe it is PCI-E 2.0, if I replace it with this card, can I get most of it? I read that R7 is a big upgrade to Quadro 2000..
Basically any current standalone GPU would be an improvement from your onboard video. As for how an R7 would up against it, that would depend on the model of R7. This particular model would be a fairly significant upgrade, although you'd probably want something with more power if you're into gaming

Quote from evila Does this come with h264 hardware encode and decode?
As far as I'm aware, nearly every GPU made in nearly the past decade has been capable of hardware H.264/AVC decoding. If you're referring to H.265/HEVC for 4K video, you'll need a GTX 980 or higher. Most modern CPU's can decode/playback HEVC without issue however.

Quote from ezrealweixiao does it work without uefi bios?
I don't see why that would be an issue.

Quote from feaumson Could I mine crypto with this?
Technically yes. Would you make a profit? That depends. With bitcoin you would need a dedicated ASIC hardware miner to turn a profit. With certain 'ASIC-proof' altcoins you might be able to turn a profit using this GPU vs. power consumption, but would be better off opting for something with more power if your intent is to mine for profit.

Much faster than Intel integrated... Anyways this is a great card for a ryzen build since there isn't video built into the CPU...

I suggest you and others looking use Tom's Hardware's comparison guide:
http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...,4388.html

This card is significantly slower then a nVidia GTX 660, AMD 6970, and most of the other cards mentioned. It's most similar to the nVidia GTX 460 from 2010, and below/slower than the basic GTX 750.

It's still a good deal for $40, and I'm considering it for an old Core 2 Quad @ 3.0 ghz that is presently gathering dust.

Hmmm... how's this compare to a rx460 or 560? Kiddo has a basic GTX 745 with 4GBs in her computer... looks like this might be a bit of an upgrade and for 40, may as well bite... but considering just putting that 40 toward a 560 or a GTX 1050 depending on what's available...

The reviews seem to place this similar performance to a 750 Ti, not bad. I'm somewhat interesting since I sold my RX 480 to crazy bitcoiners, and may be interested in something basic to run Destiny 2 with (which isn't demanding). I actually ran the D2 beta at 20-25 FPS 720P on my Intel i5 IGP, since I had nothing else, LOL. Literally any discrete GPU will run D2 like a dream compared to that. For example judging by other cards Destiny 2 performance, this should run Destiny 2 at 1080P high settings 30 FPS easily enough, as even a GT 1030 does that. I imagine you could do 60 FPS at 1080 by turning settings down if 60 FPS is your thing.

Too bad a rebate is involved. At $40 out the door with no rebate it would be a lot more compelling.
