I deleted this. They have shitty pop up ads in the lower right corner on Windows 10. Pissed me off and trashed the app.

Same question, what are the pros and cons of this? Is it compatible when opening with Word by another person?

Better to buy an older version of MS Office.

Just out of curiosity, what do you find lacking in OpenOffice/LibreOffice?

I've been using the free version WPS for a few months now. It is about as seamless as one could hope for in moving from MS Office to another Word / Excel program. The only real con is that it is not MS Office which is what I've been accustomed to using for well over a decade now. However, the pros are the price compared to MS Office and the fact that anyone can open these files with either program. I've tested a WPS document and excel file by opening it on both MS Office (which I still have active on one of my laptops) and on Office Suite Pro (Android word program). Both dealt fine with it.

The only drawback to these "Lifetime" licenses is that it is the lifetime of the computer. If you for any reason need to wipe your hard drive clean and reinstall, then you will be required to buy another "lifetime" license.

The other thing to consider is that this deal is for WPS Office 10. The most current version is WPS Office 16.

LOL, I thought "lifetime" meant free updates!

1. https://www.libreoffice.org
Freeware. Like Gimp vs Photoshop, 90% of the common features, but free.
But like all non-office competitors, not 100% compatible (wps, wordperfect, google docs, etc etc).

2. https://www.office.com
Office Online through your web browser free.
If you already signed up for an outlook.com or hotmail.com account, you already have it free.
Basic features, but fully compatible.

3. https://www.office.com
Any tablet under 10" or smartphone. Free Office Apps.
Basic features, fully compatible.

I started using the WPS software by Kingsoft in 1980s. Of course the initial version was in DOS. That was very good for Chinese character editing. Now it is becoming more and more popular and got the ability to compete MS office in some area. But whether it is good or not depends on your own needs.

Yup, still using 2010. to install the 64-version you have to manually start the 64-bit installer else the 32-bit installer will auto start on the cd.

The German software company, Ashampoo, offers their office suite for $18.00 currently. Install keys good forever and 3 PC license. I've had no problems with formatting or incompatibility since 2010 or so.

Honestly, if LibreOffice or OpenOffice aren't good enough for you, and neither are Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive/Office Live (not 365, just the free version you get with an outlook/etc free account, which is actually ridiculously full featured—including the ability to create pdfs—other than some of the sharepoint/etc advanced collab stuff and VBA usage), because of some lack in capability, then this probably won't be either and you should just pay up and get Office, because you're probably using it in a business capacity anyway if the free stuff that's out there isn't good enough.

Not trying to threadcrap, I just wonder if someone willing to jump through the rebate hoops for an out of date random other office suite (with some weird ideas of what constitutes a "lifetime license," and a ton of grammatical errors all over the place) like this doesn't realize that most of the free options are probably as good if not better than this for most general level use office suite needs.

I'd rather use this than MS Office. I have an active MS Office subscription (which I got for free), will be uninstalling very soon and installing WPS. Free up a gig or more of space and no more clicktorun services running in the background.

As for Libre/Open office, that stuff crashes A LOT and doesn't handle some documents correctly. WPS can handle any document I've thrown at it.
