if anyone is debating between this and the 850 evo like myself, I've found this comparison helpful http://www.anandtech.com/bench/pr...38?vs=1700. But when it comes to day to day experience multiple reviews say the difference is negligible

Usually internal unless you have a hot swap expansion or something, this requires a m.2 slot on your motherboard

Wish nvme can have the same price, even if it's not the fastest nvme. Or maybe Sata m.2 but cheaper

Apple uses a proprietary connector for their SSDs. It looks like M.2, but it's not. The only alternate choice I know of for Macbook-compatible SSDs is OWC.

Note that their latest Macbook Pros have the SSD NAND soldered to the motherboard (as is the RAM). So avoid Apple if you're entertaining any thoughts of upgrading components in the future.

the crucial mx300 is 149 on amazon. even at 149 im not too bummed since i will need about 7. =) with 3% back in amazon rewards. despite the tax i think id be okay
