Get the mavic if you're looking for a travel drone. The Q500 is huge and will count as an extra luggage when traveling with it.

I own a Q500 and my buddy owns a Phantom 3 Pro and we fly our drones side by side all the time. The Phantom range is longer, flies faster, the pro will hover in place without drifting.
The Q500 is quiet, you can fly without the camera, the steady grip is a major plus, and you don't need a smartphone for operation.

Only think I hated was the video was choppy when panning. All drones seem to have this but the Q500 seemed worse. I have the DJI Spark n ow with remote and it's pretty awesome for a small drone.
