Special Offer gifts will be fulfilled directly to Xbox Live accounts through the Message Center. Sponsor will determine which gift will be awarded in its sole discretion. Gifts will be fulfilled approximately 4 weeks after conclusion of the Promotion.

ok, but mystery gift valued at $10 could be crappy DLC costumes for Dead or Alive or a free month of Gamepass or some other digital junk...

if anyone completes the "challenge" and the "prize" is awarded instantly, many SDers would be appreciative if you could report as to the nature of the reward(s).

True, I wish I knew what the mystery gifts were. Then again, it could be something good. People play these games anyway, so it'll be a nice bonus if that's the case. I'm going to play 5 games for 30+ minutes each so I'll be be entered into the sweepstakes as well. Smilie

Says we'll get it in 4 weeks after the promotion ends. If I get it early I'll report back.

Does anybody know if you need to have an active xbox live gold membership to get on this deal or can I just use the 14 day free trial?

You don't need a gold membership at all. You just need to have an Xbox Live account set up. You won't be able to use anything in the game pass that requires multiplayer, but all single player content will work just fine.

I figure the "prizes" won't be worth going out of your way to waste 2.5 hours of your life for, but if there are some games you would like to try or are already playing anyway, getting something free is just icing on the cake. To save time, you might be able just hook up a wired controller (or periodically hit a button on a wireless controller) so it doesn't idle out and just leave the game running for 30 minutes while you do something else.

Seems like a lot of work and time for very little. Mystery items are rarely ever worth it.

Hmm, looks like there are at least three titles i wouldn't mind trying out for at least 30 min in the catalog.

One thing i noticed is the wording states one "Special Offer" only. So you won't get both the $5 and $10 prize by playing 3-5+ games for 30 min.

This must not be awarded instantly, as I have been playing recore since Sept 5th, and have over 2 hours in to it.

Wonder if it matters if you had the game already downloaded, such as I have Flame in the Flood already on my xbox, can I just play it for 30 minutes to have it count?

This ends on September 30th so you won't know the prizes until end of October or beginning November.

Sounds like good reasons not to bother playing any of these for 30 minutes just to get freebies. Most of the time when some place offers "random" free stuff, I think of Woot's "bag o' crap" or Disney's mystery DVDs. Though I never bought any of those, I remember reading that most of the time people got junk or very low value items. It was the exception that people got something worthwhile.

I ALWAYS get my value out of my Woot Bag of Crap. Disney Mystery DVDs, however, are hit-or-miss.

I too was curious about this. Does it have to be five unique games downloaded each month with 30 minutes plus logged; or does it mean that I just have to have/had downloaded five unique games from the library and played them for at least 30min during September? Wording is bit confusing/lacking on this, but I'm all for getting rewards for playing games.

Agreed - it will be some DLC costume and likely not of value for a majority of users. I doubt it would be a free month of Gamepass. But hey, if you have Gamepass and looking to play a few different games this weekend then nothing lost.
