Nichia LEDs at 4000k and 80+ CRI:

Nichia generally makes the LEDs with the most appealing light output. 4000k is considered "warm" color temperature. 80+ color rendering index means colors will look like they should, and you'll see it as clean white light, unless you have other "cool" temp lighting in the same room.

DC5V. 1000mA will be a slow charge for many of today's devices, but better than not having a charging pot at all.

Same question? Camelcamel says this price is even above average. What's the deal here?

is there a reason that site needs to run scripts from 72 domains? Makes me not want to give them my info at all.

Thanks for the amazon link.

I recently bought a TaouTronics LED desk lamp after seeing someone else's Mac Setup on Reddit.

I have the 14W Black one but most of Tao's lamps are very highly rated on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_s...ZSEPYMW76Y

It is a bit pricier than OP's lamp at about $29-$35 but so far it has been great as a desk lamp. I study at my desk which has me using the Study mode and sometimes I just need some light while on the computer so I put it in Relax mode. Reading a magazine for leisure I can use Reading or Study mode. Each mode has 5 different "levels" of light so I'm not left wanting some odd level of lighting that isn't offered.

Tao gives you a 12 month warranty but there is a QR code slipped in the box that lets you register and get 18 months total warranty. It's only been a few weeks so I haven't had to use the warranty, but it's a bit of peace of mind.

Random note, the box it came in wasn't some cheap flimsy cardboard box. It was pretty nice. It's an odd thing to be impressed by but I'd never heard of Tao and really just expected a lamp shoved in a box and rattling around in transit. It's very nicely packaged and guarded and Tao throws in a microfiber cloth in a package as well.

So all in all pretty impressed with the presentation and looks of the lamp. And it works for my needs really well. It has the USB charging port too, but I haven't found a need to use it yet.
