Baking soda, vinegar and boiling water works better trust me. Cast iron pipes here in my block home and that was only way to clear them. Plus this crap ruins the intercoastal waterway I'm on and actually is more expensive. Just be careful with porcelain and boiling water.

Nice find!.

THIS....requires a sams club membership but one hell of a deal

https://www.samsclub.com/sams/dra...8780250.ip

Also at costco every couple of months for about the same price...but your Amazon deal is the best without needing a club membership...as long as you have prime Smilie

This was fun. All deal threads should have this open-source dynamic. The OP? Vastly improved and long forgotten.

Any recommendations to get rid of crazy smell (Mildew) coming from the overflow hole in back of sink?? I tried drano and then boiling water. Lasted a few days.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Did that work better than this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Instant.../43830536?
I only need to our 1/4 of that bottle for really clogged sink and works like a charm. Drano requires half bottle

Yeah thats an awesome deal. I am going to see if my Sams has them in store in the morning bounce Repped for winning the challenge. Don't think I can beat that shy of dumping gas down there and burning the clog out. $2.50/ gallonshake head

Hahaha. Wish I had a Sams membership to get some myself. I'll have to wait for Costco to put it on sale again. We will have to do this again soon....it was fun!

This will not affect the intercoastal waterway at all. It will however cause you severe burns if it splashes back at you. Chemists worry more about lye (the active ingredient) than they do about acid splashes, because it takes 10x as long to wash off. This is nasty stuff, but its effects are over when it reaches an equal amount of organic material.

Treat it like flaming gasoline, and wash hands 3x after use. IF you get it in your eye you are farked. Vinegar will stop the burn, but it will really suck.

IF you can do the hot water/soap thing first (I would try) good luck, but its lame. I find a 25 foot 1/4" snake on my drill, down the exterior "cleanout" works really fast and is better than the 3/8 snake, as the hairball/greasball is really not that tough if you can only reach it for a second. The thinner 1/4 gague is nimble.

Me: I put a teastrainer on my shower stall drain that gets clogged up every 3 days. It is much easier to scoop the gook out with some TP at the surface than it is in a ball 20 feet underground. I use a tiny amount of this "draino" stuff to cleanout my teastrainer every month.
