Why thumbs down? Agree that for the specs, the price is not cheap, but keep in mind that this is super light laptop. It may be helpful for someone looking for light laptop. Also, it is not very helpful when someone just gave a thumb down without giving the reason.

Yeah, I think that a thumbs down vote for "other" reason should have a text box for the user to type in what the reason is.

There are no 15.4" laptops that are under 4lbs let alone 3lbs. That being it is expensive. I have a dell xps 15" with better specs that i paid 1100 for. It does weigh 4.4lbs however so i guess if you really need that light weight it is good. But even the 4.4lbs on my xps 15 dont bother me.

There are a lot of 15.6" Ultrabooks that are under 4Ibs, but just barely, there usually around 3.6Ibs-3.8Ibs. However, there aren't very many that go under 3.5Ibs, let alone 2.5Ibs-3.0Ibs. So ya, the LG Gram is a bit expensive for the specs, but your paying for build quality & especially portability. And that's what I want, only I currently can not afford this Ultrabook. So I'll wait for the price to drop, LG products usually do, or I'll go for something else some what close to weight & size the LG Gram.
Here's the Ultrabook I'm looking for.

13.3"-14.1" Quad-HD(2560x1440p) to Quad-HD+(3200x1800p) VA or IPS LCD Touchscreen
6th or 7th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7
8GB DDR4 RAM, upgradable to 16GB
256GB M.2 PCIe SSD
Intel HD 620
Backlight Keyboard
No Optical Drive
Wireless AC + Bluetooth, preferably 5.0
That's pretty much all I can think of right now.

I also like the Samsung Note 9 Pro (touchscreen), it can fold and use as tablet, but only with 256 gb ssd. Weight is heavier, 3.79 pounds according to Samsung's website. Another thing I don't like is it's keyboard does NOT have dedicated number keys. Since I do numbers on excel a lot, it's a deal breaker (plus the weight). Samsung is $200 cheaper, but since it has smaller SSD and heavier, I think LG is better deal, unless you really want the tablet view. My current laptop can be folded as tablet too, but I rarely/never use it.

I have the Intel 6th gen version of the LG Gram 15 and the Dell XPS 15. Until you own this laptop you don't realize how lightweight it is. The difference in portability is like night and day. Also, easy to upgrade the m.2 SSD and ram.

What you give up is discrete graphics for portability. This is not a gaming machine but more of a productivity machine. For more intense productivity I use my desktop. For gaming I use my desktop. I don't need it to go 360 as a tablet because I already own a tablet.

This is my dream laptop.
The price is dead now so this should go to deal talk.

Wish Costco sells the 8gb 256gb version which is cheaper or the 14" inch version.

Edit: Costco does have the 15" i5 8/256 version now priced at $1100. Can't wait for this to go on sale.
Still wish they had the 14" inch which is a good sweet spot.
