I usually get my Home Decor, Kitchen items and Toys from there. Not bad at all. 20% off on it makes it even better. I will surely visit BigLots over the weekend. Maybe individual perceptions differ.

Got a few things in mind. If they don't play games with the prices, count me in next week.

Was asking about their furniture last time a deal was posted for big lots and it sounds about the same as Ashley's crap (falls apart in a year, maybe two if you're lucky). I was under the impression that their furniture wasn't too bad but I guess is was wrong. I don't see any other reason to go there then because the deals on food aren't all that great (that is, if you can find anything that isn't expired) and the rest of the crap is really just crap now. Like others were saying in that thread, it's a step down from dollar tree now and I think they're right.

What is worth buying from there? Last go-qround me and wife went there walking around and we both left empty handed. Couldn't find any deals on anything and some of the things that were actually worth buying weren't all that great of a deal (especially not for a slickdealer, maybe for the typical uninformed shopper). Much of the home furnishings were super tacky and looked like they were from the 70s and like I said in my above post, check the dates on the food. They've really gone downhill.

I used to go there often in case they had anything interesting to try like unheard of bottled beverages or snacks. I once bought dozens of cans of tuna because they came out to like 30c each after the 20% off. I still have kitchen garbage bags from them from 2007, I stocked up so much. I remember their prices on stand alone bookshelves were good. Happy shopping y'all!

Or maybe certain regions have nicer ones. For example, it's funny to hear what some people on Slickdeals say about BJ's. It's clearly one of the nicer warehouse type stores in my area. I mean maybe it has to do a little with perception but let me ask you something; do you furnish your home with cheap stuff from dollar general because that's exactly the same kind of products they had. And like I said, it never used to be like that several years ago. They used to have department store type stuff, now it seems like it's 90% junk and the decent stuff is overpriced.
